2021 Nfl Odds, Lines, Picks

Indianapolis almost gave away last week’s game to the 49ers, but rookie RB Marlon Mack, who had 91 yards rushing, set up an Adam Vinatieri 51-yard field goal to earn the victory in overtime. The Detroit view website Lions have been snake bitten of late with two critical last minute losses to good teams on the road. This week they’ll play host to the upstart Giants and shining rookie quarterback Daniel Jones. Thus far they’ve been inconsistent on both sides, as one week they’ll look like Super Bowl contenders and the next week they lose to the sorry NY Jets. They’ll need to figure it out and carry their momentum they established before the bye when they get ready for the Giants team who is coming off a loss in Detroit last week to the Lions. The Falcons (4-4) have lost four of their past five games, two of them by three points and another by six.

New York Giants Need To Control The Football

The Broncos’ defence was great last week, but it’s hard to read too much into a win over a disrupted Patriots side. After falling dramatically close to the Saints in Week 5 – a game they really should have won – you have to like the Chargers in what might be one of their best chances at another win. Jacksonville’s defence ranks third in yards allowed and seventh in points – a worrying sign against rookie Justin Herbert and a Chargers offence that is vastly underrated. Two Conference cellar dwellers meet in Los Angeles this week hoping to earn their second wins of the season.

Fantasy & Betting

The Bengals have accounted for just 16 sacks through 14 games, tied for the second-fewest in the NFL, so that may not be as much of a problem for Watson this week. However, Brandin Cooks, Chad Hansen, and Keke Coutee will be challenged against what is suddenly a very talented secondary in Cincinnati. Deshaun Watson should be just fine against Cincy as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but we saw on Monday that Zac Taylor’s offense is capable of putting up points even without Joe Burrow. I’ll take the Bengals to cover a huge spread and for the total to go over on a low over/under. The Cardinals earned a win last week to bring them to 8-6 in a surprisingly high-scoring affair against the Eagles.

Carolina Panthers Over The New York Giants

The Steelers were 4-1 at the beginning of October informative post and haven’t won since. They have fallen to 4-4 and after last week’s loss to Baltimore have relinquished the lead in the AFC North. Head coach Bill Belichick has always been somewhat of a defensive guru. The Patriots are second in the NFL yielding just 16.5 points per game. Belichick’s defense will face a Seattle offense that has had its share of troubles putting the ball into the end zone this season. In their first two games of the season, the Seahawks scored just 15 points total.

In their last game, they held Oakland to just a field goal in a 27-3 win. Both Seattle and Detroit are in interesting positions heading into Week 8 of the 2018 season. The two teams, who meet Sunday in Detroit, are both 3-3 and have won three of their past four games.

The Chargers defense was roughed up in Week 1 by the Chiefs as they played without All-Pro DE Joey Bosa. The Chargers rebounded for an easy victory over Buffalo last week. The Rams give up just 16.8 points a game and defensive tackles Aaron Donald, last year’s Defensive Player of the Year, and Ndamukong Suh, picked up in free agency, each have two sacks. They held the Vikings to just 54 yards on the ground last week.

Anyhow…the Pats’ D gives up, on average, close to 275 yards through the air and close to 110 yards on the ground. I need to make a comeback of sorts with my quick picks after KC, Oakland, Tampa Bay and San Diego all failed to cover in Week 6. I stopped the bleeding because I ended up putting a few bucks on the Dolphins to beat the Green Bay Packers straight-up but it was still a Bloody Sunday. The Giants’ pass rush showed some signs of life against Washington last week.

Watt, who has remained healthy for the first time in three seasons, has 11.5 sacks. Philadelphia has won five straight against the Rams dating back to 2005. The last time the Eagles beat the Rams in Los Angeles was 1990 prior to the franchise’s move to St. Louis.
